One of the easiest and coolest looking mods you can do to the Chevy HHR is to replace the stock HHR Grille with a new HHR Billet Grille. The Billet Grilles are manufactured out of aircraft grade aluminum, and can be found from a variety of vendors. The largest benefit of buying an HHR Billet Grille is that the grille is usually sold as a set. The hhr grille set comes with a replacement grille for the hood of your HHR, and a small billet grille insert that fits into the air dam on the front of the HHR just underneath the bumper.

The lower dam opening on the bumper is not covered by any type of protection whatsoever, unless you count the flimsy piece of plastic mesh that GM decided to put over the condenser starting with the 2009 model years. The lower billet grille will cover this area and protect your HHr condenser from getting stones and road debris hitting against it. Not just that, it looks really cool too!
Installing the HHR Billet grille combo is very easy. All you need to do is remove the stock grille by unbolting the grille from the underside of the hood on your HHR. The new repplacement Billet Grille will come with mounting bolts and nuts to assist you. Follow the simple directions to install the top billet grille. This hhr grille should take you no longer than 15 minutes to install. I replaced the grille on my HHR and this is the amount of time it took me, including removing the old grille. Like I said, it is one of the easiest and quickest, cleanest looking Chevy HHr Mods out there. It's relatively cheap as well, because most grille combo's can be found on eBay for around $110-$200.
