In 1904, George G. Spitzer opened a hardware store in the small village of Grafton, Ohio. He sold tools, farm supplies and equipment to residents in and around the community. He knew all his customers by first name, and he served them well. Several years later, along came Ford with its Model T car. George Spitzer had expanded his store, but then added additional space and opened the first Spitzer Auto Store. You could say he started America's first automobile leasing company, too, because he rented cars to his friends, neighbors and sales people traveling in the area.

Today, there are dozens of franchises throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida, with plans to expand in other areas. Spitzer carries just about every American make and model car, truck and van along with popular imports including Toyota, VW, Acura, Scion, Kia, and Mitsubishi. George Spitzer was a family man with four sons, and he taught them well. Each son worked in the business at a very early age. Many things have changed over the years, but the Spitzer organization is still a family business. Upon his discharge from World War II, John A Spitzer, one of the founder's sons returned home and was responsible for an aggressive expansion program with the help of his three brothers, Stewart, Adelbert and Sidney. Vehicles may be picked up at the dealership in Akron Ohio monday through saturday 9-6 with evening hours untill 9 on monday and thursday. Possible arrangements can be made for sundays if set up in advance. Deposit of $500 dollars required within 24hours of close. We accept mastercard, visa and discover or overnight bank check for deposits. Final payment is expected within 7 days in the form of Bank check, money order, bank letter of credit or approved and signed bank contract at the dealership. Shipping charges are at your expense and we will attempt to help you if requested. In the unlikely event you have the vehicle shipped and upon receipt feel we have not accurately represented the vehicle in some manner you must notify us within 3 days of receipt of said vehicle of intent to return. Vehicle must be recieved by us within 21 days of notification. The cost of return shipment to us is your responsibility and said vehicle must be insured untill we take possession. This offer does not apply to vehicles picked up in person or inspected by buyers representative prior to delivery. Vehicles shipped out of the united states are also NOT eligible for this offer of return. We strongly urge you to contact us prior to bidding should you have any questions that we can answer for you. We will be glad to do a walk around by phone to point out any dings,dents, scratches or any other condition questions. All of our vehicles offered through this sale have been freshly serviced and safety inpected with the exception of vehicles being sold AS IS. Many have had tires, brakes and other items replaced. We will gladly inform you as to what service we have performed on the vehicle you have interest in. At no charge to you we offer a 30 day 3,000 mile warranty on major mechanical items with the exception of vehicles sold AS IS.
